The meetinghouse is located at the intersection of U.S. Route 1 and Woodlawn Road on the border of Alexandria and Fort Belvoir eight miles south of the Beltway (495/95). Be alert! The building cannot be seen well from the road because it is surrounded by trees.
Update: New lanes in use as of 12/15/16
Beginning Thursday, December 15, you will travel to Alexandria Friends Meeting on the new alignment for the widened Route One. All lanes of Route One (Richmond Highway) will shift permanently to that new alignment. There will two new lanes of traffic going north and two going south, between Telegraph Road (route 611) and Jeff Todd Way/Mount Vernon Memorial Highway. (In the spring, a third lane will be completed in both directions.)
You will turn from new Route One onto an extended Woodlawn Road. This intersection has newly installed traffic lights and a left turn lane onto Woodlawn. Woodlawn Road will then take you to the meetinghouse as it has previously.
The old alignment of Route One near the Meeting will be closed and eventually torn up. A small traffic circle turn-around will be created at the site of the old intersection of Route One with Woodlawn Road.
